Our History
At Busy Bees we’re really proud to be part of a global success story.
1983
In search of the right nursery for their children, Marg Randles and her team decide to create their own nursery with a focus on providing better care, stimulating environments, and opportunities for play and development at children's own pace and space.
1984
The Rocklands, the very first Busy Bees nursery, opens its doors in Lichfield, Staffordshire. It sets the standard for creating a safe, enriching home-from-home environment with a strong emphasis on meeting children's emotional needs, nurturing their interests, and respecting their individuality.
1984 - 2010
The success of The Rocklands becomes the blueprint for the hundreds of nurseries that Busy Bees runs today, not only in the United Kingdom but also in Ireland and around the world. The Busy Bees name becomes synonymous with the same ideals and values that made the first nursery so special.
2010
Edleun (Education Learning Universe) is formed in May with the acquisition of eleven child care centers in Alberta, Canada.
2013
Edleun Group Inc. changes its name to BrightPath Early Learning Inc., reflecting its brand and mission in high-quality childcare across Canada while maintaining a community-based presence.
2013 - 2016
BrightPath grows from a start-up into a Canadian leader in early childhood education, boasting more than 8,950 licensed childcare spaces across Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta.
2017
In May, BrightPath Early Learning Inc. enters into an arrangement with Busy Bee Holdings Limited, culminating in Busy Bees acquiring all the issued and outstanding common shares of BrightPath, marking an expansion of Busy Bees into North America and further strengthening its position as a global leader in early childhood education.
2019 - 2022
